Post-Summit News

Wahon seminarNow that the intense excitement is over, the post-Summit activity continues. We wrapped up officially this week with an amazing concert, attended by many Summit artists, gallery owners, sponsors and volunteers at Lula Lounge. Two of our top Canadian jazz players, Robi Botos on piano and Dave Young on bass joined John Kaizan Neptune who flew in from Japan to play shakuhachi for the gig, and Ron Korb, an old friend of the JPP who plays eastern and western flutes. What an excellent musical note to end on.

Open StudioBut this is really a beginning too. Reg Beatty, our washiseen host will be sending out a survey to some who took part - either as artist or curator, volunteer or as a visitor to see what new beginnings or perceptions have been inspired. He'll share his findings in the Washiseen blog in the coming weeks. If you have something you would like to tell us all about or photos to show the world, please let  him know.

Thanks to so many people who came to the events and exhibitions in June. From all of us who did this for your enjoyment and inspiration, a great big grateful HUG! and wishes for continued exploration of and success with WASHI!
